Detection of anti-Yersinia antibodies in human serum
描述
Yersiniosis is an acute intestinal disease characterized by diarrhea, abdominal pain and high fever. It is caused by the bacterium Yersinia enterocolitica or, rarely, Yersinia pseudotuberculosis. While culture of the organism from a fecal specimen provides a definitive diagnosis, serological results showing a rise in antibody titer in specimens collected 15 days apart provide significant evidence of infection.
